馃實 On International Women鈥檚 Day 鈥 and all year round 鈥 we recognise the critical role women play in shaping climate solutions, and the disproportionate impacts they face, as climate change deepens existing inequalities. 鉁 At NDF, gender equality is embedded across our portfolio. All projects we co-finance must be gender-responsive, meaning they actively consider and address different needs, priorities and power dynamics across genders. One project example is the West Africa Coastal Areas Program (WACA), implemented with the World Bank, tackling rising sea levels and coastal erosion. In Avloh village in Benin, women salt producers have seen a five-minute walk to gather sand to extract salt turn into a full-day journey due to flooding. This reduces income, increases risk and disrupts generation-old practices. 馃寠 馃毀 By integrating #GenderEquality into coastal resilience efforts, WACA helps protect both ecosystems and livelihoods, ensuring that no one is left behind. 鉃★笍 Read more: https://shorturl.at/oedhq #ClimateResilience #Gender #IWD #ClimateFinance #WestAfrica
馃殌 Launching the 2026 IMCA Annual Workshop in Helsinki! 馃嚝馃嚠 This week, we are pleased to welcome members and collaborators of the Investment Mobilisation Collaboration Alliance (IMCA) to Helsinki as we advance joint efforts to scale #ClimateFinance in emerging markets and developing economies. 馃憢 鉁 ...But what is IMCA? It鈥檚 an alliance that brings together governments, DFIs, philanthropies and investors to coordinate project pipelines and support innovative blended finance vehicles that mobilise private capital at scale. 馃挕 Over the next two days, the workshop will include strategic discussions on IMCA鈥檚 path toward 2030. Member organisations will share their priorities and concrete opportunities for collaboration within IMCA. In addition, we will discuss updates from the most recent joint call for proposals under the Adaptation Finance Window for Africa (AFWA), a key initiative aligned with NDF鈥檚 priorities in adaptation and Africa. Participants will also work in thematic breakout groups, tackling practical challenges to identify key insights and propose next steps. 鉁 As a catalytic climate financier, we value these opportunities to exchange perspectives, align priorities and shape partnerships that can unlock capital where it is needed most. Looking forward to productive discussions and next steps here in Helsinki! Read more about IMCA: https://shorturl.at/aWnbW Learn more about AFWA: https://shorturl.at/tVhEq
